When you browse the web today you will come across many variations of banners in a header, some have cool and appealing transitions others have certain functionalities that you may or may not need, but in most cases it all comes down to the design of the image in the banner. If the image or the design inside the banner is good, it can be classified as a good advertising space.
But what if you need more? What if you would like to display 15 or more items in a banner? When you start browsing the web for that kind of a banner you will be amazed with the lack of offer. Even if you are able to find what you need, it will most certainly be stripped of a function that you need or the design will be, let’s say, questionable.
Content Timeline – jQuery/HTML5/CSS3 Plug-in is a plug-in that can display the unlimited number of elements that along with the preview element also have the “Read more” element that you can customize as you wish.
I played around with it, gave it a go with some of my content and it worked perfectly in most cases. It is fairly easy to customize and to set dates along the timeline. Design can be changed by simply replacing the images that represent the buttons and the timeline. Colors, backgrounds and majority of other variables are all driven by CSS3 and can be altered easily. The jQuery script works well while many other scripts are activated on the same page.
As i like the concept very much i would love to get the option to arrange my services along the timeline or to set a project timeline with detailed description of the work that has been done each day. Unfortunately this is not included, yet.
All-in-all it is not the perfect element yet, but it most certainly has a bright future. I have spoken with the developers and they intend to broaden the possibilities of this plug-in. The responsiveness is the next thing that they will be working on while they publish the Joomla! component and WordPress plug-in.
I wish them good luck and i hope that they can make our lives easier with this simple but creative thingy they call Content Timeline.
