One would not be far from the truth if it is said that web design is a complicated and intricate venture. There are certain things that come to play when it comes to designing a website. It is an undisputable fact that it is the features of your site that determines the number of visitors to your site. With all this said, listed below are some of the tips that will help you in effectively designing a website .
  •  Rapid Loading Website: In designing a website, the designer should not allow himself or herself to get carried away. Your website should be optimally designed in a way that it would not take up to twenty seconds to load. People or visitors easily get scared away by sites that take a long time to load. The more minimal in design, the better it is for easy loading.
  •  Easy Navigation: Every good site is supposed to be user friendly for each new visitor. You would want visitors to your site to have an uninhibited tour of the whole site and to achieve this; the navigation should be very easy. Place links to other pages or interesting posts where they could be easily accessible by the visitor, specifically at the top right hand corner of your site. This position is preferred because studies have shown that this is the place visitors look at first after landing on a site. Alternatively, you can also place the links on the left or right hand side of the site, in a way that they would be accessed freely from every angle of your site.
  •  Resolution Compatibility: This is the computer age and based on this, several types and brands of computers are out there in the market. These computers have their similarities and also have their diversities. One of the areas to be considered when designing your web is the resolution. Resolutions vary from one computer to the other. Your website should be designed to cater to every range of resolution and this can be achieved by basing your designs mainly on percentage term instead of pixels. Building your site on percentage term will allow users access to your site, no matter the resolution of the computer system being used.
  •  Minimal use of images: Images come in different or varied sizes. The more you use large images in designing your website, the more it gets an unprofessional and cluttered look. Simplicity and creativity is the watchword in web designing. Putting up images here and there on your web page tends to distract the attention of the visitor from his main intent of visiting that site. These images at the same time may not be easy to load when using the site. The lesser the images on the site, the better it is for both you and the visitors.
  •  Browser Compatibility: This is a very important factor to consider in building a website. The more we progress technologically, the more several browsers are developed for better and easier performance than the previous ones. Design your site in a way that it can be accessed from any and every available browser.
  •  Broken Links: After the designing of a web site , it should be tested and confirmed of not containing any broken links before it can then be uploaded to a default server. Broken links can really scare visitors away from your site.
