Configuration menu

Navigate to Components-->New Gallery-->Configuration
Here You can set: Gallery Title, Random display of photos and size of the gallery

Category Menu

Navigate to Components-->New Gallery-->Category
Here You can see Your categories...You can publish, unpublish, change order and delete categories

Here You can add multiple categories

Pictures Menu

Navigate to Components-->New Gallery-->Pictures
Here You can upload,delete,publish,unpublish,change order of photos

Simple; however, the multiple uploads does not work and would be nice to be able to go back and edit the Title,Discription & Catagory.

3. Works very nicely

This component worked for me as advertised. I uploaded over 100 photos into 4 categories.

Observations: (1) If you make an error, you must delete, then upload the photo again as new. I forgot to assign category to several photos.

(2) It would be nice to have multiple photo upload if you do not use title, description fields.

(3) It is not possible to reassign photo to different category. See (1).

(4) Strange behavior in photo listing (admin area). Do not see all my photos. No paging of data. Front end ok, however.

4. Does not work

Hi.
I don't have the "new gallery" menu under "Components" menu. What do i do to have it?
I can add photos and change configuration components->simple_flash_gallery->configuration. But i dont have any other alternative to create the album.
Somebody please help.

I have upload the flash gallary successfully but and upload the photos from the components..

But how can i view that photo gallary in the front page should i create the separate module for that ??

Any change I try to make says Configuration not saved! I've all permissions for the folder (com_new_gallery) and everything in it to 775 or 777. Any ideas?

Everything works but the pictures does not show. I am using this on a ubuntu machine. I don't know if that matters.

I have the New Gallery installed and working properly. It is really excellent. Just a couple of questions...

Is there any way to change the size of the font used to display the text in the New Gallery plug-in? If so, where can I make these changes?

I've added the new gallary in my web page and it works well in firefox and iexplorer 7, but not in iexplorer6. I've added an object and embed and the gallery appears but without any image.
Do you know how can i fix it?

Hi! I think it's a great component with some marginal limit.
How can i disable 'slideshow' option of the player? It runs by default, I would prefer not to autostart...

17. Not showing anything

This component is not showing anything when I access it from the menu. I have 2 categories and 3 pictures and all are published, but when I pick the menu item from the front end, nothing shows up, and the categories dropdown is empty. Getting frustrated.

18. Excelent + Beautiful setup

In Fact the only trouble I have is the translation, if you would put the .flv I couls translate it, but having only the swf I can´t do it, I would like to have a Spanich version of it.

19. Good idea but doesnt function well

Advantages:
- Looks good
- Layout and style better than most
- Category organisation on front end works well
- Preview of images in albums is great

Disadvantages:
- Images have to be made to the sizes given, otherwise distorts them
- Bad back end functions (no editing after photo uploaded)
- When loading on new photos a simple refresh does not load new images onto the flash (migt be my browsers). had to close window / tab and re open site

All in all it is a good little gallery, but it needs alot of improvement before i would use it for bulk photos (due to resizing issues)

Keep getting "Not success. Try again."

On the front end, the Categories do not show up either on the Drop-down.

I assume it is a permission error. Please let me know what directories need what permissions.

23. Disappointing.....

This COULD be a great component. Unfortunately it only works with horizontal pictures and they must be one of three preset sizes in order to not distort the images. Not allowing for any other sizing is very short sighted. I like the component, but it will not work for a pro site. Hopefully these weaknesses will be fixed.

For those not able to get it to write to directories or upload images, change your permissions to 777.
